Kenmore Refrigerator Ice Maker: Cost & When It’s Not Worth It
$210–430 total (shop) · $77–140 DIY part

The ice maker assembly is usually worth replacing on a working fridge. Identify the assembly from your model plate first, though: prices differ a lot between bottom-freezer and French-door units, and one or two of them cost several times the common ones.
⚠️Shut off the water line first. The ice maker holds water in the fill tube and mold, so towels go in before tools. And thaw it fully before you blame the part: a frozen fill tube mimics a dead ice maker, and a fair share of “failed” assemblies were just iced up.
Your model number decides which part you need.
