GE Dryer Belt: Cost & When It’s Not Worth It
$140–310 total (shop) · $9–23 DIY part

It’s one of the cheapest fixes you can make. The belt is a screwdriver-and-tub job: the front panel comes off, the drum lifts out, and the walkthrough covers every routing step.
⚠️Match the belt path to the old one. Wrap the belt around the drum, then feed the loose end between the idler and motor pulley exactly as the walkthrough shows; the routing is where most first attempts go wrong. Unplug the dryer first, and check that the idler pulley spins freely while you are in there.
Your model number decides which part you need.
