About WorthItToFix
WorthItToFix exists to answer two questions about an appliance repair: what does it actually cost, and is it worth doing yourself. Every guide covers one specific repair: what the part is, what it runs, how the job rates on DIY difficulty, and when calling a repair technician is the smarter spend.
Our numbers come from sources we can point at: part prices are asking-price bands from live eBay listings, checked and dated on every page; shop totals combine those parts with published service-call and hourly-rate benchmarks. Difficulty ratings come from how real repair attempts went; we mined thousands of public repair walkthroughs and comments, so the time and pain reflect what people actually experienced, not a guess.
On trust: guides name exact part numbers because that is what decides whether the part fits your machine. Some outbound links to parts stores, and calls made to repair services, may earn this site a commission (disclosed on every page). Nobody pays for placement, and nothing on a page changes because a link is on it.
Who runs this: an independent publisher with a background in data work, no ties to any appliance manufacturer or repair network. Questions, corrections, source-check requests, and business inquiries all reach the same inbox: [email protected]. Corrections get priority: if a price band or time estimate is off, we would rather hear about it than leave it wrong.
